Biography & Overview

Disha Biswas (born 3 April 2004) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler. An all-rounder, she came to international attention as captain of Bangladesh's women's Under-19 team at the inaugural ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023. Born in Magura, Bangladesh, Biswas developed through the country's domestic women's cricket system. She represented Chittagong Division at a young age and later played for Barishal Division. Her performances in domestic competitions and youth cricket helped her progress towards higher levels of the national setup. As Bangladesh's Under-19 captain, Biswas led the team at the 2023 World Cup, where she took five wickets in five matches. She had also impressed in the team's preparation series against Malaysia Under-19, including a five-wicket haul and an unbeaten innings of 43. Biswas was part of Bangladesh's bronze-medal-winning women's cricket team at the 2022 Asian Games. She was subsequently selected for senior national squads, although her senior international debut came later. On 14 October 2026, she made her Women's One Day International debut against Australia in Brisbane, scoring 13 not out and taking the wicket of Australian batter Beth Mooney. Her progression from domestic cricket and youth leadership to senior international cricket marks an important stage in her career. She is a pace-bowling all-rounder in Bangladesh's women's cricket setup.
